Woods Chapel United Methodist Church will host its Prom Boutique March 9-12 at the church, 4725 NE Lakewood Way in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. This event provides free prom dresses and prom accessories, plus a limited number of men’s suits and tuxedos, to high school students. Boutique hours will be 3-7 PM on, March 9, 10, and 11, and 9-1 PM on March 12. The Prom Boutique will feature 3,000 new or almost-new prom dresses from size 0 to size 32. Basic alterations will be available on site. Boutique guests may also select a pair of shoes, a purse, and jewelry appropriate for a prom or other special event. A smaller, separate section of the boutique features men’s dress suits, shirts, ties, and shoes. Beginning in the school year 2020-21, Missouri law requires schools to provide sexual abuse prevention education to students. High school students were given a form today to complete if they would NOT like to participate in these upcoming presentations.
